Quickstart

This guide helps new users run BDL Desktop IDE quickly.

Install and launch

1. Download the desktop package from the download page.
2. Install for your operating system:
   • Windows install guide
   • Linux install guide (AppImage or DEB)
3. Start the app and open a project folder.

Connect your workspace

• Use File -> Open Folder
• Verify file tree loads on the left
• Open one file tab before using split editor

First AI prompt

Open the AI panel and ask:

"Summarize this project and suggest first improvements."

Verification checklist

• Editor opens and saves files
• AI panel responds
• Run/Tasks panel can execute project commands
